It’s been three consecutive years now that « ATC Tattoo » goes to Evian to make a report on this wonderful event. We had a lot of fun during those three days. We discovered a lot of artists and met up with some tattooists, who attended the previous editions. The town, the room and the organisation are still very welcoming. A convention you do not want to miss !
For this 9th edition, the Evian convention made, like each year, a beautiful poster filled with « new-school » artists : Jamie Ris, Timmy B, Mike Woods, Tony Ciavarro as well as Teresa Sharpe, Dimitri HK, Fabian Lucky 7, Jérome Crazycaps, Leo Valverde, Andrea Lanzi “AntiKorpo”, Nathan Evans, Erin Chance, Petja Evlogieva, Elvin aka Sid L-Boy, Jérôme Siempre Tattoo, Lindsay Baker etc. Other Styles were also honoured such as realistic tattoo with Thomas Carli Jarlier, Thomas Dermhospital, Snatch Tattoo, Tzenio Dildo studio for example. We also admired the superb tattoos made by Nicklas Westin, Jonathan “Earth Grasper”, Christian “L’encre du people”, Jason Martinell, Steven Compton, Brandon Schulteis. More than a hundred tattooists came from the four corners of the planet.
Now about the shows, there were neo-burlesque representations by the lovely India and of course many contests took the stage during the week end presenting tons of quality tattoos rarely equaled in conventions. we clearly got an eyeful.A big room was also used for tattoo suppliers and a ton of merch stands were also there, along with a painting exhibit presented by tattoo artist Dimitri HK.
The after parties were particularly filled with booze. The town, as always, knew how to receive this great event. The restaurants and bars served late and with patience for this colored audience, who’s a bit different and maybe a bit noisier than those from the spa.
Another success for Dats, the organiser, already in preparation for next year’s edition. The convention will celebrate its 10th edition. We’re awaiting an amazing poster for this anniversary. A huge thank you to the whole team who organised the event. Let’s not forget that Dats also organises the “TAHOE” convention in the state of Nevada in America.
