Hallowink Convention

Hallow’ink 2015 in the exhibition hall of Perpignan.

Like every year and as the title suggests, Hallow’ink takes place on the weekend of Halloween, which gives originality to this convention with tattooed monsters and other gory costumes.

The Tattooists and the public took part of the game. You could come across a killer clown, Harley Quinn accompanied by the Joker, zombie style Mario & Luigi, a Deadpool tattooist, etc. One point in common, they all had tattoos everywhere on their arms.

Other amusing detail, the event took place next to a fun fair, allowing people to go relax around a nice toffee apple or to puke gallons of beer after riding a rollercoaster.

In the event, you could also see an exposition of old retro cars and old Volkswagen Kombis.

We discovered or (re-discovered for some) the humorous magic shows performed by the Bouffard family. There was also a fakir, a danse show, a freak show, photo exhibitions, the lovely and blood-soaked Cervena Fox, tattooed pin-up girl. A weekend full of surprises animated by the duo Jul & Dim.

The machine builder Sailor Kéa proposed a seminar on the construction and settings of tattoo machines. Another seminar on the technics of realist tattoos was presented by Fabien Belveze.

And like any other tattoo conventions, there were tattoo contests and gigs. This year and at the demand of Christophe « Anchor Tattoo », the organiser, the circus of terror themed poster was made by Dimitri Hk and Lucho Morante.

As of the tattoo artists attending this year, Lea Nahon came from Belgium. Alex Dupuis and Sebas from Trois-Rivières in Quebec were also present. Franck Misti-ka, Melodie, Mike and Laura of White Chapel, Diego Moraes, the Dimitri Hk Crew (Bastien aka Ponpon, Popeye, Sid L-Boy, Jem and Dimitri Hk), Julien Thibers, Lou, Niko Ink, Sergio Vila, Vatea, Lucho Morante also made the trip to Perpignan, etc… The list is long

We thank again Christophe of Anchor Tattoo for those two amazing and fun days at the convention. Until next year !
